Certified Medical Assistant (Front & Back Office) – Outpatient Cardiology Clinic

Job Overview

The Piedmont Heart Institute is seeking a qualified Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support both front office and back office operations within its Outpatient Cardiology practice. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, exceptional patient interaction skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-demand outpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a wide range of patient care services under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse.

  • Assist with clinical procedures, patient assessments, and routine medical tasks following established clinical standards.

  • Manage administrative responsibilities including appointment scheduling, patient registration, documentation, and support of daily clinic activities.

  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical accuracy, and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, care protocols, and data confidentiality guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Nursing Assistant program required.

  • In lieu of formal education, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is acceptable.

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a medical office setting required with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program.

  • Without program completion, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience required.

Licensure & Certifications

  • No licensure required by law.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • Certification from AAMA or another recognized medical assistant certification body required.
