Primary Responsibilities

  • Code inpatient and/or outpatient medical records accurately using ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes.

  • Abstract and index medical records to support hospital, regional, and government planning and ensure accurate reimbursement.

  • Maintain ≥95% accuracy in code assignment and sequencing according to departmental guidelines.

  • Meet departmental productivity standards and coding deadlines.

  • Participate in coding meetings and educational sessions to maintain and improve coding skills.

  • Demonstrate time management and reduce non-essential interruptions.

  • Flexibly work additional hours or adjust shifts as required.

  • Maintain cooperative relationships with all departmental and hospital staff.

  • Attend conference calls to provide information related to coding activities.

  • Comply with employment contract terms, company policies, and directives, including reassignments, shift changes, and flexible work arrangements.


Required Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate degree.

  • Certification:

    • Certified coder through AAPC or AHIMA.

    • Acceptable certifications: CPC, CCS, CIC, COC.

    • Proof of current coding certification required during interview or offer process.

  • Experience: Freshers or candidates with experience in medical coding are eligible.
