Position Overview

As Biostatistical Programming Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring statistical programming activities meet Amgen’s quality, compliance, and timeline standards. You will oversee work outsourced to Functional Service Providers (FSPs), provide technical consultancy, and contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee execution and quality of FSP projects per Amgen Global Statistical Programming (GSP) Quality Oversight Plan (QOP)

  • Align FSP project assignments with Amgen’s development priorities

  • Ensure delivery meets expectations for quality, compliance, timelines, and productivity

  • Develop and revise FSP training materials; conduct onboarding and training for FSP staff

  • Provide technical guidance to FSP Study Lead Programmers on Amgen tools, processes, and utilities

  • Contribute to development, collection, and reporting of FSP performance metrics

  • Review documentation such as specifications, issue logs, and deliverable status

  • Advise on study-specific specification and documentation queries

  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives within GSP


Basic Qualifications

One of the following:

  • Doctorate degree

  • Master’s degree + 2 years of statistical programming experience

  • Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of statistical programming experience

  • Associate’s degree + 8 years of statistical programming experience

  • High school diploma / GED + 10 years of statistical programming experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, or related field

  • 6+ years of statistical programming in the biopharmaceutical industry

  • Regulatory submission experience (e.g., CDISC, FDA)

  • Experience with vendor and resource management

  • Advanced SAS skills (Base, Macro, SQL)

  • Experience with SAS/Graph and Stat packages

  • Familiarity with programming in R or Python

  • Experience with Pinnacle 21 and data compliance tools

  • Hands-on experience with SDTM and ADaM datasets and TFLs

  • Strong understanding of clinical trial lifecycle (Phase 1–4)

  • Effective leadership and team management abilities

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Experience working in global, remote teams
