Role Overview:

The Bioanalytical Associate Scientist in Sample Logistics will be a key member of Pfizer's PDM ADME Sciences Logistics team at the Groton campus, responsible for managing logistical operations for Pfizer’s global small molecule bioanalytical groups. This role involves coordinating requests for experimental study support, managing sample submissions, inventory, and ensuring compliance with regulatory practices. The candidate will contribute to enhancing and building logistics capabilities within the team while supporting the development of new therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample Management: Receive, log, and manage samples of biological fluids/tissues. Troubleshoot any errors in the submission process.
  • Coordination & Support: Act as a coordinator between client groups requesting experimental study support, in-life analysts, and Bioanalysts. Manage inventories of compounds, matrices, and supplies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory (GLP) requirements, including good documentation practices. Collaborate with the Regulatory Quality Assurance group during audits.
  • Dynamic Portfolio Support: Adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic portfolio and contribute to the advancement of Pfizer’s therapeutics pipeline.
  • Team Collaboration: Work within a matrix team environment, focusing on enhancing and building the logistics capabilities in support of experimental studies.
  • Technology & Workflow Improvements: Contribute to driving technologies and workflows that enhance logistics capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: B.A./B.S./M.S. degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or a relevant scientific field. Ph.D. candidates will not be considered for this role.
  • Scientific Knowledge: A solid understanding of biology, analytical chemistry, or pharmacology principles.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and multitasking under time constraints.
    • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix team environment.
    • Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior experience with sample logistics and inventory management.
  • Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Understanding of pharmaceutical development and in vivo studies related to pharmaceutical programs.
  • Informatics Tools: Familiarity with research informatics systems like WATSON Laboratory Management System.
  • Regulated Environments: Experience working in a regulated (GLP) laboratory environment is highly desirable.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to handle non-human and human samples.
  • May be required to manage bulky boxes and enter cold storage (-20°C) rooms.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $62,700.00 to $104,500.00 annually
  • Bonus: Eligible for Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
