Job Overview

IQVIA is hiring an Associate Manager, Lab Central Monitoring for its Kochi location. This leadership role is designed for experienced professionals from clinical, hospital, laboratory, or healthcare operations backgrounds who can lead centralized monitoring teams and drive high-quality clinical operations delivery.

The selected candidate will manage a team of Centralized Monitoring Project Coordinators (CPCs), ensuring operational excellence, quality compliance, workforce management, process improvement, training oversight, and sponsor-aligned study execution.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, manage, and support a team of Centralized Monitoring Project Coordinators (CPCs).
  • Assign work based on team capability, protocol complexity, and project requirements.
  • Conduct:
    • Performance evaluations
    • Coaching and mentoring
    • Professional development planning
    • Team guidance and operational supervision
  • Support employee relations management and workplace issue resolution.
  • Participate in performance improvement actions where required.

Clinical Operations & Centralized Monitoring Oversight

  • Manage centralized monitoring activities across moderate to complex clinical protocols and non-protocol tasks.
  • Ensure high-quality operational delivery aligned with sponsor expectations and internal standards.
  • Coordinate with global project teams and operational counterparts to maintain consistency and productivity.

Hiring, Training & Workforce Development

  • Support recruitment and candidate evaluation processes.
  • Participate in interviews and onboarding activities.
  • Coordinate new staff training with HR and talent development teams.
  • Ensure team members receive:
    • SOP training
    • System access
    • Process training
    • Mentored operational support

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct regular quality checks and mini-audits on staff output.
  • Lead investigations related to quality incidents.
  • Perform:
    • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
    • Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) planning
    • Quality improvement interventions
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
    • ICH Guidelines
    • Internal SOPs
    • Clinical operations standards

Project & Resource Management

  • Allocate staff to projects based on experience and workload capacity.
  • Track staff assignments, utilization, and departmental productivity metrics.
  • Monitor performance trends and report key operational metrics to management.
  • Manage competing priorities while maintaining service delivery quality.

Risk Management & Process Improvement

  • Identify operational risks, performance gaps, and workflow bottlenecks.
  • Implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Participate in departmental continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build strong working relationships with:
    • Global clinical project teams
    • Operational leadership
    • Internal quality teams
    • Sponsor stakeholders
    • Clinical operations management
  • Ensure smooth communication across global delivery teams.

Required Qualifications

Educational Qualification
Preferred:

  • Life Sciences background
  • Clinical / healthcare background
  • Hospital operations background
  • Laboratory sciences background
