Associate Director, Clinical Education

Location: Remote/Field-based (Supporting Key Accounts)

Job Description Summary:

The Associate Director, Clinical Education is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts. This self-motivated and clinically trained leader will engage Health Care Providers (HCPs) on disease state awareness, clinical education, and specific clinical information about Novartis products. The goal is to improve patient outcomes by delivering unbranded and branded information and educating HCPs and their staff on key Novartis resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disease/Therapeutic Area Awareness:
    • Drive awareness of diseases and therapeutic areas.
    • Increase education, empowerment, treatment compliance, and shared decision-making between HCPs and patients.
  • Education and Relationships:
    • Deliver in-depth disease education to HCPs and office staff.
    • Build and maintain relationships with account staff to drive patient advocacy and ensure ongoing engagement.
  • Resource Provision:
    • Provide resources to HCPs on innovative, approved ways to diagnose and treat patients.
    • Implement a well-defined account plan to deliver short and long-term value for HCPs, staff, and accounts.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work with Territory Account Specialists (TAS), territory colleagues, and HQ to ensure targeted and coordinated efforts in offices.
  • Business Meals:
    • Engage in compliant business meals to facilitate educational or business-related discussions (defined business need must exist).
  • Digital Engagement:
    • Own and deliver digital pull-through and virtual engagement programs via digital platforms to engage customers.
  • Planning and Problem-Solving:
    • Lead planning meetings with key partners to solve complex customer problems.
    • Work collaboratively across functions to meet customer needs.
  • Market Analysis:
    • Analyze territory market data and trends to identify educational needs of HCPs.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure alignment with, and compliance to, all NPC policies, including the Code of Conduct and applicable laws and regulations.

Essential Requirements:

  • Certification:
    • Past or current Physician Assistant (PA) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification, or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) (certification does not need to be active).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 18-24 months of clinical practice experience with patients.
    • Experience establishing and nurturing relationships with key partners and influencers.
  • Skills:
    • Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration within a matrix structure.
    • Ability to travel 60-80% over a broad geography, with a valid driver’s license.
  • Residency:
    • Candidate must reside within territory or within a reasonable commuting distance (100 miles from territory border).

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical marketplace and governing rules and laws.
  • Understanding of commercial payers, Medicare Part A/B/C/D plans, and state Medicaid.
  • Therapeutic area and launch experience with a background in guiding and influencing others.
