Job Summary
A top healthcare and RCM service provider is seeking an Assistant Manager – Quality Coding (Outpatient) to join its team in Airoli, Navi Mumbai. This role involves leading a team of 20–25 QAs, managing physician and outpatient coding quality, and ensuring compliance with client SLAs. Candidates with 6–10 years of coding experience and expertise in physician profee coding are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage a team of 20–25 Quality Analysts (QAs).
Create a collaborative and open team environment.
Design and manage QA capacity planning.
Oversee quality of ProFee & E/M coding projects.
Ensure strict compliance with client SLAs and organizational quality systems.
Conduct random audits of auditors and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
Identify knowledge gaps and develop action plans with quality leads and operations managers.
Discover training needs, coach QAs, and foster professional development.
Monitor team performance metrics and resolve conflicts effectively.
Recognize and reward high performance.
Encourage creativity and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Graduate degree in Life Sciences (Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Physiotherapy, Zoology, Botany) or BHMS/BDS.
6–10 years of experience in medical coding, with at least 2–3 years in a lead, auditing, SME, or QA management role.
AHIMA or AAPC certification is mandatory.
Hands-on expertise in Physician ProFee coding across multiple specialties (E&M, Surgery, Radiology, Interventional procedures, etc.).
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, NCCI edits, and CMS guidelines.
Familiarity with EMRs and Encoders, and references like Coding Clinic and CPT Assistant.
Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
Strong understanding of HIPAA and compliance guidelines.
