Job Summary

Apotex is seeking an experienced legal professional for the position of Assistant Manager – Legal. The role involves providing comprehensive legal support across multiple business functions including contracts, regulatory matters, compliance, and corporate legal affairs.

The selected candidate will work closely with the Head of Legal – India and other in-house legal counsels across the Apotex Group, supporting business operations while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and corporate policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to various business functions within the Apotex Group under the guidance of the Legal Affairs department.

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including confidentiality agreements, quality agreements, pharmacovigilance agreements, procurement contracts, service agreements, and sales agreements.

• Support operational legal matters related to Indian business operations including HR, finance, quality, procurement, compliance, and litigation.

• Provide legal assistance in regulatory matters including R&D activities, clinical trials, and regulatory submissions.

• Review and prepare responses related to regulatory requests such as Access to Information Requests and Public Release of Clinical Information.

• Identify potential legal risks associated with business activities and propose practical mitigation strategies.

• Assist in dispute resolution activities including litigation, arbitration, and pre-litigation matters in coordination with external legal counsel.

• Support implementation of global corporate legal programs, policies, procedures, and systems to strengthen legal governance and risk management.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to ensure effective legal support and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Maintain strong communication and collaborative relationships with internal teams and leadership.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Legal Affairs department.

Experience Required

Candidates should have approximately 5–6 years of professional experience working as in-house legal counsel in an international corporate environment or in private practice at a law firm, preferably within a regulated sector such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or life sciences.
