JOB OVERVIEW
Bayer is seeking an experienced Area Business Manager to drive sales performance, market expansion, and distribution development within the assigned territory. The role focuses on achieving revenue targets, strengthening healthcare provider relationships, and expanding product reach across clinics, hospitals, and institutional channels.

This is a field-based leadership role requiring strong commercial execution, team management, and territory development capabilities within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sales ecosystem.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Strategy & Business Growth

  • Implement sales strategies to achieve defined revenue and volume targets

  • Drive business growth across clinics, hospitals, and institutional accounts

  • Expand market presence by identifying and developing new territories

  • Ensure adherence to company sales operating systems, procedures, and compliance standards

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals and key customers

  • Ensure prompt resolution of customer queries, issues, and complaints

  • Strengthen customer engagement to drive long-term business partnerships

Distribution & Channel Development

  • Develop and expand distributor networks for maximum market penetration and profitability

  • Identify, onboard, and manage new distributors in alignment with company policies

  • Strengthen secondary sales distribution and improve product availability in the market

  • Ensure effective coverage of untapped and emerging markets

Collections & Credit Management

  • Implement and enforce company credit policies across the territory

  • Monitor distributor claims, payments, and outstanding collections

  • Ensure financial discipline and compliance with organizational credit guidelines

Marketing & Trade Promotion

  • Coordinate with marketing teams for execution of promotional campaigns

  • Participate in exhibitions, fairs, and trade events to enhance brand visibility

  • Support field marketing activities to improve product awareness and demand generation

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate sales MIS, primary and secondary sales data reporting

  • Ensure timely reporting in line with organizational standards

  • Maintain process discipline and operational compliance across all sales activities

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, motivate, and guide field sales teams to achieve performance targets

  • Support training, development, and performance improvement of team members

  • Foster strong employee relations and a high-performance sales culture


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, healthcare sales, or FMCG/consumer health sales

  • Proven experience in territory management and achieving sales targets

  • Prior experience in team handling or sales leadership roles preferred


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field is required

  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is preferred and will be an added advantage
