🎯 Role Overview:

As a Scientist, you will be responsible for activities related to Process R&D, custom synthesis, scale-up, and operations within pilot and kilo labs. You will contribute significantly to organic synthesis processes, method optimization, product development, and characterization using advanced analytical techniques.


🛠 Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Process R&D, Custom Synthesis, and Scale-Up for new molecules.

  • Execute Kilo Lab production processes.

  • Perform analytical characterization using IR, NMR, HPLC, Mass spectrometry.

  • Plan and schedule product development activities.

  • Identify process improvements, perform troubleshooting, and enhance chemical synthesis efficiency.

  • Independently manage organic synthesis reactions, including those involving pyrophoric and moisture-sensitive reagents at 20L scale.

  • Operate equipment handling 1L to 50L scale reactions, including work-up, purification, and final analysis.

  • Execute purification techniques such as:

    • High vacuum distillation

    • Recrystallization

    • Column chromatography

  • Lead tech transfer of developed processes to pilot plant scale.

  • Handle shift operations independently when needed.


👤 Who You Are:

🎓 Education:

  • M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry

📅 Experience:

  • 6 to 10 years in Pharma CRO or Specialty Chemical Industry

Mandatory Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in:

    • Process R&D, Scale-Up, Pilot Plant, and Kilo Lab operations

    • Reactions involving pyrophoric and moisture-sensitive chemicals at mid-scale

  • Competence in:

    • Handling and purifying reactions at 1L to 50L scale

    • Use of analytical tools: NMR, IR, GC, HPLC, MP, and Elemental Analysis

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Organic synthesis, reaction mechanisms, asymmetric synthesis, catalysis, and ligand chemistry

    • Tech transfer from R&D to production

  • Familiarity with:

    • GMP, ISO, and QA audits

    • Good Documentation Practices (GDP)

    • Microsoft Word, Excel

    • SAP (advantageous)

    • Lean Six Sigma methodology (preferred)
