Position Overview

Pediatric Associates is seeking an X-Ray Lab Technician to join the team at the Hollywood location in Hollywood, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic medical x-rays and laboratory procedures while maintaining the safety, quality control, and compliance standards set by the organization. If you have a passion for pediatric care and experience in x-ray and lab testing, this is an exciting opportunity for you.

Primary Functions

  • Diagnostic x-rays: Perform medical x-rays with proper processing techniques and equipment maintenance.
  • Laboratory procedures: Conduct testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology, Microbiology, and Spirometry.
  • Phlebotomy: Perform venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks for sample collection.
  • Quality control: Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly checks of instruments, ensuring compliance with OSHA/Safety standards.
  • Reporting: Document and report lab and x-ray results accurately and in a timely manner, especially critical or out-of-range findings.
  • Training and support: Assist in training colleagues in lab and x-ray procedures and maintain inventory of lab supplies.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited Radiology program.
  • Licensing:
    • Required: Florida Department of Health License (RT or BMO) and certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or Florida Department of Health Certified Radiologic Technologist.
    • Prefer: Medical Assistant or equivalent, phlebotomist certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience with x-ray. Laboratory and phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of diagnostic x-ray procedures, laboratory quality control, and universal precaution procedures.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and healthcare providers.
    • CPR certification required.
