Job Overview

IQVIA is seeking a highly experienced Vice President – APAC Biotech & Delivery Innovation to lead the growth and operational excellence of its Biotech Solutions across the Asia-Pacific region. This senior, client-facing leadership role will be responsible for driving regional business expansion, overseeing delivery excellence for complex global clinical programs, and shaping innovative delivery models focused on speed, quality, scalability, and consistency.

As a key member of the APAC senior leadership team, the role will partner closely with global stakeholders to strengthen IQVIA’s biotech value proposition and ensure best-in-class execution across the region.

Key Responsibilities

APAC Biotech Solutions Leadership (Approx. 60%)

  • Lead the strategic growth and expansion of IQVIA’s Biotech Solutions portfolio across the APAC region.

  • Drive new business development with emerging and established biotech companies while maintaining and expanding existing client relationships.

  • Serve as the senior executive point of contact for client engagements, new opportunities, and strategic account management.

  • Oversee APAC biotech project leadership teams to ensure successful delivery aligned with contractual commitments, customer satisfaction, and repeat business.

  • Champion integrated, globally aligned delivery models in collaboration with IQVIA Biotech and Research & Development Solutions (RDS) leadership.

  • Own full P&L responsibility for IQVIA Biotech APAC, ensuring optimal utilization of financial, human, and operational resources.

Global Project Excellence & Innovation (Approx. 20%)

  • Act as the regional liaison with global project leadership teams, providing visibility into multi-regional clinical programs, study status, risks, and scope changes.

  • Lead resolution of complex delivery issues, escalations, and financial commitments across APAC.

  • Represent APAC in global delivery transformation initiatives and support implementation of innovation programs within the region.

APAC Delivery Excellence (Approx. 10%)

  • Partner with APAC and global operations leadership to review and improve delivery KPIs, operational performance metrics, and financial health indicators.

  • Support initiatives to ensure consistent achievement of APAC clinical research operational and financial targets.

Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Provide executive leadership to clinical operations teams across multiple countries and regions.

  • Develop and mentor senior managers and future leaders, aligning talent development with organizational strategy.

  • Define and execute regional clinical operations strategy, resourcing models, and workforce planning.

  • Ensure adherence to GCP, ICH, and regulatory compliance across all clinical programs.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer experience.

  • Lead budget planning, forecasting, risk management, and financial performance tracking for the region.

  • Support clinical operations marketing, solutioning, and global sales initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline (advanced degree preferred).

  • Minimum 17 years of experience in clinical trials, clinical operations, or project management.

  • At least 13 years of leadership experience managing large, multi-regional clinical operations teams.

  • Strong expertise in GCP, ICH guidelines, and global regulatory frameworks.

  • In-depth understanding of clinical research financial models, project accounting, and performance metrics.

  • Proven experience in P&L management and large-scale operational leadership.

  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with fluency in English.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
