Job Overview:

We are looking for a Trainee Research Associate to join our Synthesis team at Jubilant Biosys, Greater Noida. The position provides an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates or those with limited experience to gain hands-on experience in chemical synthesis, purification, and characterization within the drug discovery domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Synthesize, purify, and characterize chemical intermediates for drug discovery.
  • Deliver small to large quantities of novel chemical entities to support ongoing research projects.
  • Collaborate with team members to advance chemistry projects and ensure timely delivery of results.
  • Apply fundamental knowledge of organic chemistry, including mechanisms and functional group transformations.
  • Use techniques such as thin-layer chromatography, column purification, and extraction for compound separation and purification.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in NMR, IR, and mass spectrometry for compound analysis.
  • Follow laboratory safety practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure safe work practices.
  • Communicate scientific findings effectively, both verbally and in writing, to team members and supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • M.Sc. in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry or related field, or M. Pharma (Specialized in Organic Synthesis).

Experience:

  • 0 to 1 year of relevant project experience in a research or industrial setting is preferred.
  • Fresh graduates with academic project experience in synthetic chemistry or related fields are welcome to apply.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of basic organic chemistry principles and mechanisms.
  • Good knowledge of key organic reactions, functional group transformations, and analytical techniques.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques including thin-layer chromatography, column purification, and extraction.
  • Basic understanding of spectroscopy techniques, such as NMR, IR, and mass spectrometry.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment.
  • Good communication skills, both scientific and interpersonal.
  • Enthusiastic and adaptable to working in a dynamic and fast-paced research environment.
