Role Overview:

The Associate – Scientific Writing will develop scientific and promotional content for pharmaceutical and healthcare brands. The role involves researching, writing, and adapting scientific information into accurate, compliant, and engaging materials for healthcare professionals (HCPs), patients, and other stakeholders.

This position requires 3–6 years of experience in scientific/medical writing with a strong background in life sciences or pharmacy and familiarity with regulatory approval processes.


Key Responsibilities:

Content Development

  • Draft, review, and edit scientific and promotional content including:

    • Emails

    • Detail aids

    • Websites

    • MOA stories

    • Display banners

    • Patient/HCP engagement materials

  • Translate complex scientific/clinical data into clear, audience-appropriate messaging.

  • Prepare medical claims matrices, references, and annotations to support content.

Research & Accuracy

  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings into brand-relevant content.

  • Ensure materials are scientifically accurate, referenced, and aligned with source data.

  • Stay updated on therapeutic areas, clinical trials, and pharma industry trends.

Compliance & MLR Submissions

  • Prepare and submit content for approval through Veeva Promomats or similar MLR platforms.

  • Incorporate Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) feedback promptly.

  • Ensure content meets FDA, HIPAA, and client-specific compliance standards.

Collaboration

  • Work with medical reviewers, brand managers, and creative teams to ensure content quality and consistency.

  • Support omnichannel campaign teams in aligning content with brand strategies and engagement journeys.


Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 4–6 years as a scientific/medical content writer, preferably in the US pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  • Experience developing content across digital and omnichannel formats (emails, banners, web, MOA, etc.).

  • Hands-on experience with Veeva Promomats or similar MLR platforms.

Skills:

  • Strong ability to interpret and simplify scientific/clinical data.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of referencing styles (e.g., AMA, APA) and medical literature review.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, regulatory-driven environments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related field.

  • Training or certification in medical/scientific writing is a plus.
