Job Overview

Elanco, a global leader in animal health, is seeking an experienced Team Leader – Pharmacovigilance to manage and lead PV Case Processing operations within the Elanco Innovation and Alliance Center for India (EIACI). This leadership role is critical in ensuring high-quality adverse event processing, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across global pharmacovigilance activities.

The position is ideal for professionals with deep expertise in animal health pharmacovigilance, case processing leadership, and global safety compliance.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the pharmacovigilance case processing team, setting clear objectives and performance expectations.

  • Drive individual development plans, career growth initiatives, and team engagement.

  • Support recruitment activities to ensure the right talent is onboarded to meet business and regulatory needs.

  • Actively participate in global GPV team meetings and cross-functional leadership forums.

Pharmacovigilance Operations & Global Collaboration

  • Oversee coordination and consistency of adverse event and product complaint case processing across global GPV teams.

  • Collaborate with global pharmacovigilance stakeholders to maintain harmonized case processing standards.

  • Support and contribute to strategic and operational GPV projects aligned with organizational objectives.

Quality, Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely processing of pharmacovigilance cases in compliance with global reporting requirements.

  • Monitor team performance against quality, compliance, productivity, and regulatory KPIs.

  • Ensure all team members are appropriately trained and qualified for assigned PV activities.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance case quality, efficiency, and compliance.

  • Ensure adverse event data supports robust safety monitoring and benefit–risk evaluation for Elanco products.

Stakeholder Engagement & Organizational Influence

  • Build strong working relationships with internal leadership, regulatory teams, quality functions, and call center operations.

  • Identify operational challenges, propose solutions, and escalate issues through appropriate governance structures.

  • Collaborate with global affiliates to strengthen pharmacovigilance processes and broaden organizational safety insights.


Qualifications

  • Essential:

    • Veterinarian (equivalent to a US DVM degree), or

    • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline


Experience Required

  • Minimum 10 years of total pharmacovigilance experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in animal health pharmacovigilance

  • Minimum 2 years of team leadership or people management experience (preferred)
