Job Overview

Elanco, a global leader in animal health innovation, is seeking an experienced Team Leader – Pharmacovigilance (Case Processing) to lead and manage pharmacovigilance operations within the Elanco Innovation and Alliance Center for India (EIACI).

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing global pharmacovigilance case processing activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, data quality, and operational excellence across adverse event and product complaint management for animal health products.


Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Pharmacovigilance Case Processing Team

  • Set clear objectives, performance goals, and career development plans for team members

  • Support recruitment and onboarding of skilled pharmacovigilance professionals

  • Foster collaboration across Global Pharmacovigilance (GPV) teams to ensure consistent case processing standards

  • Actively participate in global GPV meetings and leadership forums

2. Pharmacovigilance Operations & Case Management

  • Provide oversight and guidance for adverse event and product complaint case processing

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of cases to meet global regulatory reporting requirements

  • Ensure availability of high-quality safety data for continuous monitoring and benefit-risk evaluation of Elanco products

3. Quality, Compliance & Process Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, quality systems, and global pharmacovigilance regulations

  • Monitor and improve quality, compliance, and productivity metrics

  • Ensure team members are appropriately trained and qualified for assigned PV activities

  • Lead or contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and data quality

  • Drive continuous improvement through collaboration with global GPV leaders

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including regulatory, quality, call center, and affiliate teams

  • Act as a key PV representative across internal governance structures

  • Identify operational risks, propose solutions, and communicate effectively with leadership

  • Strengthen collaboration with global pharmacovigilance and regulatory teams across regions


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Qualification:

    • Veterinarian (equivalent to US DVM degree), OR

    • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 10 years of total pharmacovigilance experience

    • At least 2 years of experience in animal health pharmacovigilance

    • Minimum 2 years of team leadership or people management experience (preferred)
