Role Summary

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care, monitoring patient health, administering medications and treatments, maintaining medical records, and supporting doctors and healthcare teams in delivering safe and effective clinical care.


Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Provide bedside nursing care to patients.

  • Monitor and record vital signs and symptoms.

  • Assist in recovery, rehabilitation, and ongoing treatment care.

  • Support patients in daily medical and personal needs.


Clinical Duties

  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed.

  • Perform point-of-care testing.

  • Conduct nursing assessments.

  • Operate and manage medical equipment.


Documentation

  • Maintain accurate patient records.

  • Document medical history, symptoms, and treatment updates.

  • Ensure proper reporting of patient condition changes.


Team Coordination

  • Work closely with doctors, specialists, and healthcare teams.

  • Participate in patient care planning and implementation.

  • Ensure continuity of care across shifts.


Patient & Family Support

  • Educate patients and families about health conditions.

  • Provide emotional and moral support.

  • Guide patients on recovery and health maintenance.


Hospital Operations

  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies.

  • Follow hospital protocols and infection control standards.

  • Participate in regular training and in-service education.
