IQVIA is seeking an experienced Senior Statistical Programmer to lead and manage a team within the Statistical Programming function. This role involves team leadership, project oversight, resource planning, and providing advanced technical expertise for multi-project clinical programming initiatives. The Senior Statistical Programmer will also act as a technical consultant and lead programmer on major studies while ensuring adherence to global standards and quality processes.
Serve as a Statistical Programming consultant to internal teams and Biostatistics departments.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry advancements in statistical programming.
Lead major projects as a senior statistical programmer, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Provide advanced technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
Independently develop and propose innovative solutions for SP teams and ongoing projects.
Review and evaluate processes, methodologies, and validation standards.
Conduct bi-monthly meetings with direct reports to review project progress, deliverables, risks, KPIs, training, SOP compliance, and career development.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and ensure global alignment.
Collaborate with project leads for resource allocation, workload forecasting, staffing needs, and technology support.
Communicate organizational updates, risks, and opportunities between leadership and project teams.
Provide support or designate coverage for team members during absences or turnover.
Participate in Bid Defenses, Kick-Off Meetings, and support RFI/RFP processes.
Lead or support internal and external audits and inspections; ensure team readiness and compliance.
Manage project finance components such as forecasting, EAC, and burn-rate monitoring.
Drive business outcomes through proactive risk assessment, timely communication, and decision-making.
Experience Level:
Master’s in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role, OR
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role, OR
Equivalent education, training, and experience.
Advanced proficiency in SAS programming and database technologies.
Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and biostatistics.
Demonstrated staff management and team leadership capabilities.
Strong organizational, time-management, and metrics-driven decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Skilled in mentoring, coaching, and motivating teams.
Ability to work independently and within a matrix service delivery environment.
Strong problem-solving and judgment skills with a proactive approach to risk management.
Understanding of basic project finance concepts and ability to drive financial outcomes.
