Job Overview:
As a Senior Statistical Programmer, you will leverage your advanced technical expertise to lead the development of integrated programming solutions that meet the full spectrum of statistical programming needs. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing complex study requirements, and acting as a technical leader and internal consultant across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming & Integration:
Execute and lead programming, testing, and documentation for statistical tables, listings, and figures in complex studies.
Develop analysis databases (derived datasets) and manage data transfers for both internal and external clients.
Program and plan integration of databases across multiple studies or data sources.
Conduct database quality control checks when required.
Documentation & Specifications:
Create, review, and coordinate programming documentation, including detailed plans and technical specifications.
Ensure compliance with project-specific and regulatory documentation standards.
Technical Leadership & Development:
Offer advanced technical expertise and act independently in solving project challenges for complex studies.
Lead the development, implementation, and validation of process technologies, macros, and tools to streamline programming operations.
Project Oversight:
Serve as the statistical programming lead for single complex studies or a group of studies.
Understand and manage Scope of Work (SoW), budget forecasts, quote assumptions, and Out of Scope changes.
Provide accurate estimates, manage project budgets, and prepare revenue forecasts as needed.
Mentorship & Training:
Guide, train, and mentor junior statistical programmers.
Foster skill development and adherence to best practices within the team.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered
Experience & Skills:
Strong knowledge of statistics, clinical trial processes, and statistical programming
Advanced proficiency in Base SAS, SAS Graph, and SAS Macro Language
Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships
