Position Overview:
We are seeking a Sr Programmer Analyst with specialized experience in Oracle Argus Safety Database administration and pharmacovigilance data systems. This is a fully remote role focused on supporting technical solutions, database configurations, migrations, and reporting functionalities within our Pharmacovigilance (PV) team. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert who can balance systems maintenance with development responsibilities in a regulated clinical research environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as SME for daily configuration, maintenance, and user support for the Oracle Argus PV Safety database

  • Design and execute custom/ad-hoc reports using SQL, OBIEE, and built-in reporting tools

  • Support system upgrades, dictionary updates, and liaise with database vendors for issue resolution

  • Troubleshoot user queries and ensure technical issues are addressed promptly

  • Lead data migration and validation projects, ensuring accurate and compliant transitions

  • Maintain change control processes, managing configuration updates and system enhancement

  • Create and validate distribution rules and tenant instances within Argus

  • Draft Data Migration Plans, Design Specifications, and Summary Reports for regulatory compliance

  • Support internal and external audits and contribute to SOP development for PV systems

  • Estimate project efforts and support proposal activities during business development phases

  • Provide technical mentorship to junior team members


Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, IT, Life Sciences, or related field

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in pharmacovigilance system administration, specifically with Oracle Argus

  • Demonstrated success in safety data migration and SQL-based reporting


Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong expertise in Oracle Argus configuration, rule creation, and system workflows

  • Proficient in SQL and OBIEE reporting

  • Solid understanding of relational database structures and complex data mapping

  • Strong attention to detail with effective problem-solving and time management abilities

  • Capable of multitasking and adjusting priorities in a dynamic project environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven leadership skills and ability to mentor junior analysts

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary global team
