Sr Medical Editor – Remote (India)
Job Summary:
Syneos Health is seeking a highly experienced Sr Medical Editor to lead the editorial review of global clinical and regulatory documents. This remote opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong copyediting and publishing experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, particularly those well-versed in AMA style and FDA/EU guidelines. Join a fast-paced, global medical writing team delivering high-impact content for regulatory submissions and clinical research.
Key Responsibilities:
Copyedit clinical documents per AMA or custom style guides
Review documents for data integrity, clarity, grammar, consistency, and structure
Ensure all content aligns with FDA, EU, ICH, and ISO regulatory requirements
Lead complex editorial projects and coordinate internal medical writing meetings
Mentor junior editors and deliver training across the medical writing team
Track project timelines and proactively communicate deliverable risks
Support document compilation, publishing, and quality assurance
Develop internal tools and SOPs to enhance editorial workflows
Collaborate with medical writers and stakeholders to ensure excellence in document delivery
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, clinical sciences, English, or journalism
5+ years of medical editing, copyediting, or publishing experience
Deep familiarity with AMA style guide (mandatory)
Excellent command over grammar, punctuation, and regulatory document standards
Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
Experience with ISIToolbox or similar markup tools (preferred)
Understanding of FDA and EU submission requirements, ICH guidelines, and ISO standards
