Position Summary

The Senior EP Field Clinical Specialist will provide advanced clinical and technical support for Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) Business Unit. The role involves field support of clinical research procedures, troubleshooting, project/territory management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This position serves as a key resource for clinical studies, protocol guidance, and product expertise.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Technical Support

  • Provide field support for clinical research procedures and enrollment.

  • Serve as a clinical and technical expert for EP technologies and trial protocols.

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of assigned clinical sites.

  • Support sites in training staff on protocols, procedures, and technology.

  • Troubleshoot complex clinical, protocol, or technical issues.

Study & Territory Management

  • Facilitate site qualification, contract/budget escalations, and study start-up activities.

  • Develop strategies to optimize patient enrollment and study performance.

  • Provide ongoing feedback on study progress to internal stakeholders.

  • Support Clinical Site Leads and share best practices to improve trial data quality.

  • Identify and communicate site-specific challenges and solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, R&D, marketing, and commercial teams.

  • Act as a liaison between Abbott and healthcare professionals for product feedback and clinical insights.

  • Contribute to product education, presentations, and regional/national launches.

  • Mentor other field clinical staff and serve as a study champion.

Continuous Improvement & Leadership

  • Utilize critical thinking to identify and resolve issues proactively.

  • Contribute value to organizational objectives beyond primary responsibilities.

  • Share best practices for territory and trial management.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biological Sciences, or related field, or equivalent certification in Cardiology.

  • 3+ years of progressively responsible clinical experience in the cardiovascular field.

  • EP clinical background and field experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

  • Strong understanding of EP Lab, Cath Lab, and OR protocols.

  • Recognized as a clinical/technical leader in the field.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication, presentation, and influence skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, multitasking, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel up to 80% and lift up to 25 lbs.


Compensation

  • Base pay range: $75,300 – $150,700 (varies by location).
