Amgen is hiring a Senior Associate – Data Analytics in Hyderabad, India to support its Global Medical Affairs Data & Analytics (MDnA) team. This role focuses on generating data-driven insights from healthcare datasets, scientific engagement data, and real-world pharmaceutical data to support strategic decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
The position involves advanced analytics, dashboard development, data visualization, and predictive modeling to enable Medical Affairs teams to derive actionable insights from complex datasets such as HCP engagement data, prescription datasets, claims data, and scientific publications. Candidates with strong expertise in Python, SQL, R, Tableau, Power BI, and pharmaceutical data sources like IQVIA or Symphony Claims will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze structured and unstructured medical datasets to generate insights for Medical Affairs strategy
Translate analytical findings into clear recommendations to enhance MSL engagement strategies
Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, Python, R, and SQL
Analyze pharmaceutical data sources including:
IQVIA NPA prescription data
IQVIA DDD outlet data
Medical and pharmacy claims datasets (Symphony Claims)
Identify trends in scientific engagement, HCP sentiment, and medical publications
Establish and track KPIs to measure analytics impact and performance
Conduct ad hoc data analyses to support business strategy and medical decision-making
Develop reusable analytics frameworks, code components, and templates
Collaborate with data science, IT, engineering, and external partners for data integration and governance
Participate in Agile development cycles including sprint planning and iterative analytics delivery
Implement predictive analytics, automation, and advanced visualization techniques to improve insights generation
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Healthcare Analytics, or related fields
1–5+ years of experience in Medical Data Analytics, Commercial Analytics, Market Research, or Healthcare Data Science
Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and R
Experience developing data dashboards and visualization tools using Tableau or Power BI
Understanding of pharmaceutical industry data ecosystems and healthcare analytics workflows
Experience working with HCP-level data, claims data, or prescription datasets
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to convert complex data into actionable insights
Experience translating business requirements into data analytics solutions
Preferred Technical Skills
Experience building predictive analytics or machine learning models for healthcare analytics
Familiarity with Databricks or large-scale healthcare data platforms
Experience with scenario planning models and simulation analytics
Knowledge of real-world data (RWD) analytics in pharmaceutical or biotech settings
Experience in Agile analytics project management and KPI-driven performance monitoring
