The Field Sales Representative position at AbbVie offers a field-based role focused on executing brand strategies, managing sales performance, and building customer relationships. Here is an overview of the role:

Purpose:

The Field Sales Representative will be responsible for executing AbbVie’s brand strategies within an assigned territory. This role aims to achieve short- and long-term sales performance targets while ensuring the patient remains at the center of all activities. Candidates should be able to operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Performance & Targets:

    • Deliver sales performance by meeting or exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs), financial targets, and marketing objectives.
    • Plan and execute pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to improve sales performance.
    • Handle objections and concerns effectively, driving actionable outcomes to close sales calls.
  2. Customer Relationship Management:

    • Build strong, trusted relationships with customers by proactively addressing their needs and challenges.
    • Work to achieve mutually beneficial agreements between AbbVie and customers.
    • Develop and implement effective call plans to optimize coverage and frequency for key customers, driving sales opportunities.
  3. Market Intelligence & Strategy:

    • Continuously gather insights on customer needs, market landscape, competitor dynamics, and product knowledge.
    • Share relevant market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align strategies and anticipate challenges.
    • Utilize this information to adapt and optimize brand strategies.
  4. Brand Differentiation:

    • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition by developing relationships with key healthcare providers and experts.
    • Identify and cultivate disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Proven success in sales, with strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of scientific, therapeutic, and competitive aspects of the industry.
    • Strong business acumen and the ability to use business tools effectively.
    • Ability to adapt to different customer behaviors and modify sales strategies accordingly.
    • Proficiency in strategic and critical thinking to maximize business opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in sales performance within therapeutic areas such as immunology, oncology, or neuroscience.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical sales, physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing.
  • English proficiency (for non-English speaking countries).

Additional Information:

  • Travel: Up to 20% of travel required.
  • Salary: $78,500 - $192,500, based on experience and location.
