Job Summary

The role is responsible for implementing sourcing and procurement strategies for Nutraceuticals Raw & Packaging Materials, ensuring strong supplier partnerships, process efficiency, and alignment with organizational sustainability and business goals. The position involves driving supplier innovation, managing risks, leading negotiations, and ensuring cost competitiveness.


Key Roles & Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Operations

  • Implement procurement strategies for Nutraceuticals Raw & Packaging materials in alignment with business goals.

  • Identify opportunities for volume consolidation to optimize cost and procurement efficiency.

  • Continuously challenge and review specifications to drive standardization and process improvement.

  • Lead sourcing initiatives, including supplier selection, negotiations, contract execution, and risk management.

Supplier Collaboration & Innovation

  • Engage with suppliers to identify and implement innovative ideas and improvements in raw and packaging materials.

  • Support stage-gate reviews for supplier-led innovations and manage risk assessments for new solutions.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) practices and enhance compliance with sustainability targets.

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain (supply, quality, or safety) and develop mitigation plans.

  • Ensure uninterrupted supply continuity through proactive monitoring and supplier performance management.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with R&D, Manufacturing, Planning, Finance, and Business Leads to align sourcing priorities and address market challenges.

  • Support AVD (Alternate Vendor Development) activities through vendor scouting, evaluation, and testing.

  • Integrate market intelligence to develop competitive “should cost” models and enhance business advantage.


Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

  • Graduate in Pharmacy or Science (preferred specialization in Nutraceuticals or related fields)

Experience:

  • 3–6 years of experience in the Nutraceutical industry managing sourcing and procurement of raw and packaging materials


Skills & Attributes

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of supply chain operations, procurement systems, and vendor management processes

  • Knowledge of regulated Nutraceutical raw and packaging materials, supplier base, and market requirements

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing Nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals

  • Awareness of ESG principles, sustainability standards, and market intelligence tools

  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
