Role Overview
We are seeking a Local Pharmacovigilance Specialist with fluency in German to support global pharmacovigilance operations. This position is ideal for motivated self-starters who wish to gain practical experience in PV and medical information in an international environment. Prior pharmacovigilance experience is desirable but not required.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Safety Management:

  • Screen local scientific literature for safety-relevant publications and develop search strategies.

  • Process Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs) from clinical trials, spontaneous reporting systems, and literature; submit reports to competent authorities.

  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints.

  • Support the creation of periodic safety reports (PSURs, DSURs), risk management plans, and signal detection reports.

  • Translate documentation between German and English, ensuring quality checks of translations.

First-Level Medical Information:

  • Manage Level 1 Medical Information enquiries, triaging cases to pharmacovigilance, medical information, or product quality teams.

  • Data entry and translation (German/English) as required.

  • Escalate Level 2 enquiries as needed.

  • Be available for phone support during project-specific business hours.

Quality Systems & Program Support:

  • Perform quality control tasks and system validation tests.

  • Support program managers with project-specific information and reporting.

  • Assist with project management and documentation as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional education or university degree in Life Sciences preferred but not mandatory.

  • Basic knowledge of pharmacovigilance and medical information is advantageous.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Fluency in German and business-level English.

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to manage internal and client relationships effectively.

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
