Job Summary

Abbott is hiring a Senior Therapy Development Specialist for its Structural Heart division covering the Houston and Dallas regions in Texas. This key role focuses on developing strong site relationships to drive patient enrollment and therapy awareness for structural heart clinical trials. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to advancing cardiovascular treatment technologies while interacting closely with investigators, physician assistants, nurses, and clinical teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with key physicians and site stakeholders to drive clinical trial enrollment.

  • Streamline patient screening processes and coordinate referral activities to enhance therapy awareness.

  • Support implementation of trial enrollment strategies under the guidance of senior management.

  • Facilitate educational programs for healthcare professionals at trial sites.

  • Monitor enrollment progress and organize awareness initiatives to ensure study milestones are met.

  • Engage operational site staff to ensure adherence to protocol and study objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional clinical and commercial teams to support therapy development.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of all trial-related activities and communications.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (Life Sciences, Medicine, or related fields).

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant field-based medical device industry experience.

  • Prior experience in sales and/or clinical research (field clinical affairs preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of cardiac medical procedures and cath lab protocols.

  • Ability to lead educational sessions for healthcare professionals.

  • Excellent communication skills to engage with multiple organizational levels.

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and follow-up capabilities.

  • Ability to multitask and manage deadlines effectively.

  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time as per business requirements.
