Senior Technical Project Manager – Syneos Health (Salem, TN)

Job Summary:
Syneos Health is seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead and oversee critical pharmaceutical and IT infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong project leadership skills, experience in managing SaaS/COTS integrations, and expertise in risk management and stakeholder coordination. This role offers the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams, manage project lifecycles, and ensure seamless delivery of innovative solutions within the pharma industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all key project meetings, calls, and documentation across teams.

  • Finalize project scope with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Statements of Work (SoW) and charters.

  • Develop and gain approval for detailed project strategy documents, communications plans, and schedules using Microsoft Project.

  • Collaborate with STS teams (Application Engineering, Infrastructure, Security) and vendor teams to ensure timely delivery.

  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and financial tracking (purchase orders, invoices, accruals).

  • Maintain comprehensive issues and risk logs, implementing mitigation plans.

  • Lead project kickoff meetings, steering committee reviews, and weekly status updates.

  • Ensure all deliverables are documented, approved, and stored in designated repositories.

  • Prepare production cutovers, ensuring smooth handovers to production support.

  • Collaborate with Finance and business stakeholders for project spend tracking and reporting.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or technical discipline preferred).

  • Proven experience in pharmaceutical or CRO industry IT project management.

  • Expertise in risk mitigation, stakeholder management, and cross-functional team leadership.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project, Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and SharePoint.

  • Hands-on experience in IT roles (developer, DBA, data architect) is a plus.

  • Experience managing SaaS/COTS software projects, data migrations, and system integrations.

  • PMP certification and Agile/Scrum experience preferred.

  • Ability to lead mixed internal/vendor teams and virtual teams across geographies.
