Overview

We are seeking a Senior STEM Content Analyst with expertise in Biochemistry to join our Systems Biology team in Tamil Nādu. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to MetaBase, a flagship database that supports multiple Clarivate products and services globally.

As part of a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of 15 members across India and Spain, you will leverage your scientific expertise in biochemistry, cellular biology, pharmacology, and toxicology to support biomarker discovery, drug repositioning, and molecular network analyses.

This position is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills, experience in content curation, and the ability to synthesize complex scientific information into actionable insights for database users.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth literature analysis to evaluate metabolism, pharmacological activity, and biochemical properties of compounds.

  • Annotate and curate molecular interactions, drug metabolism, and chemical structure data for accurate indexing within the MetaBase platform.

  • Act as a subject matter expert in Biochemistry, guiding colleagues and external contributors on data interpretation and database accuracy.

  • Collaborate with the Principal STEM Content Specialist to resolve content and production challenges.

  • Support automation initiatives and workflow improvements, including SQL-based error identification and correction.

  • Maintain and update scientific knowledge to remain current with developments in Biochemistry, Systems Biology, and related fields.

  • Ensure data is presented clearly, consistently, and accurately across database entries.


Qualifications and Prerequisites

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, or related Life Sciences.

  • 4–6 years of professional experience in scientific content analysis, curation, or research.

  • Laboratory experience in drug metabolism, cell pharmacology, or toxicology is desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of cellular and molecular biology, biochemical interactions, and drug properties.

  • Proficiency in data analysis, literature review, and database management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Strong computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office and ability to quickly learn new software tools.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with databases, relationship models, and scientific indexing.

  • Familiarity with AI tools, SQL, R, or Python for data management and workflow optimization.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary, global team.

  • Managerial or mentoring skills to guide junior analysts or peers.
