About the Role
Medtronic is seeking a highly skilled Senior Statistician to join our Complaint Trending and Signal Monitoring team. This role offers an opportunity to drive meaningful insights from complaint data, support product improvement, and enhance patient safety. You will leverage advanced statistical methods, collaborate across functions, and ensure regulatory compliance while contributing to Medtronic’s mission of improving global healthcare access and equity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct statistical analyses to identify trends in complaint data, producing actionable insights for product enhancement and risk mitigation.

  • Develop and implement statistical models for signal detection, root cause analysis, and prediction of emerging trends.

  • Utilize advanced analytical tools, including UmpSoft and R programming, to analyze large datasets and create clear, effective visualizations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as quality, regulatory, and engineering to maintain compliance with complaint handling and post-market surveillance standards.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards to communicate findings to senior leadership and regulatory authorities.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior statisticians and analysts.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory updates, and advanced statistical methodologies related to complaint trending and signal monitoring.

  • Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and other relevant regulatory standards for complaint data management.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in statistical analysis, complaint trending, or signal monitoring in the medical device or healthcare industry.

  • Proficient in performing complex statistical analyses to generate actionable insights from complaint and post-market data.

  • Experienced in designing and implementing statistical models for signal detection, root cause analysis, and trend prediction.

  • Strong expertise in analytical software, including UmpSoft and R, with a proven ability to visualize large datasets.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Proven mentorship skills and ability to guide junior statisticians and analysts.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and advanced statistical methodologies relevant to complaint trending and signal monitoring.

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
