Job Description:

Overview:

Join IQVIA Laboratories in Ithaca, NY as a Senior Scientist in Assay Development. Lead the design, development, and optimization of analytical methods and assays, ensuring quality delivery and scalability across lab operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute assay and method development processes of moderate complexity

  • Write and validate analytical methods and support analytical testing as needed

  • Troubleshoot assays and apply root cause analysis for process optimization

  • Lead technical projects and mentor junior staff to ensure successful deliverables

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure methods are scalable and sustainable

  • Transfer developed methods to validation and operational teams

  • Maintain laboratory notebooks and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards

  • Support lab equipment maintenance and evaluate new instrumentation


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in assay or method development

  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Experience extracting and performing LCMS on small molecules and pharmaceutical drugs

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and good documentation practices

  • Effective communication, organizational, and leadership skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
