Job Description:
Overview:
Join IQVIA Laboratories in Ithaca, NY as a Senior Scientist in Assay Development. Lead the design, development, and optimization of analytical methods and assays, ensuring quality delivery and scalability across lab operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute assay and method development processes of moderate complexity
Write and validate analytical methods and support analytical testing as needed
Troubleshoot assays and apply root cause analysis for process optimization
Lead technical projects and mentor junior staff to ensure successful deliverables
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure methods are scalable and sustainable
Transfer developed methods to validation and operational teams
Maintain laboratory notebooks and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
Support lab equipment maintenance and evaluate new instrumentation
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline
Minimum 4 years of experience in assay or method development
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted
Skills & Knowledge:
Experience extracting and performing LCMS on small molecules and pharmaceutical drugs
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
Familiarity with regulatory standards and good documentation practices
Effective communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
