Job Summary:

The Senior Scientific Advisor is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality scientific content in alignment with client strategy and branding. This role requires close collaboration with clients, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate, and impactful deliverables.


Key Responsibilities:

🧬 Scientific Content Development

  • Author/support publication and presentation of product/disease information.

  • Develop content across multiple media formats to support client strategy.

  • Review external technical and scientific reports for inclusion in content development.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance when reviewing clinical and technical documents.

  • Create innovative, scientifically sound solutions to address business needs.


🤝 Stakeholder & KOL Partnership

  • Serve as the main scientific contact for clients to meet project goals.

  • Collaborate with internal/external scientists and stakeholders.

  • Manage and nurture relationships with KOLs in relevant therapeutic areas.

  • Lead advisory board preparation and may facilitate meetings.

  • Partner with clients and internal teams to deliver scientific and clinical insights.

  • Stay current with industry trends and apply best practices.


👥 Client Services Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between scientific and client services teams for content development.

  • Provide project updates to ensure deadlines are met and clients are informed of changes or delays.


📈 Marketing Collaboration

  • Support the development of pitch content and scientific proposals.

  • Attend pitch meetings with Marketing and Client Services teams.

  • Share insights from market assessments and new therapeutic opportunities.

  • Communicate scope changes to Marketing based on client discussions.


📌 Other Duties

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

🎓 Education

  • PhD (preferred) or PharmD with a relevant scientific concentration.

📆 Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a medical communications agency.

  • Experience developing scientific platforms.

  • Therapeutic area expertise required.


Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of medical/scientific literature and information sources.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under tight deadlines.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Team-oriented mindset with initiative and accountability.

  • Able to travel (10–20%) for client meetings, advisory boards, conferences, and pitches.


Compensation & Benefits:

💵 Estimated Annual Base Pay Range:
$95,100 – $237,700 USD

Actual pay may vary based on experience, location, and other factors. May include bonuses, incentive plans, and a comprehensive benefits package.
