Job Purpose
To perform synthetic chemistry and laboratory-based research activities, support project execution in drug discovery workflows, ensure high-quality experimental documentation, and contribute to ongoing research programs in collaboration with cross-functional scientific teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Synthetic Chemistry & Laboratory Work
Perform synthetic chemistry reactions and reaction workups.
Carry out purification of compounds using:
Column chromatography
Crystallization and recrystallization
Preparative TLC
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
2. Sample Handling & Analysis
Submit synthesized samples for analysis and record results.
Track and report progress of synthesis to supervisor or group leader.
Ensure proper packaging and shipment of samples.
3. Documentation & Data Recording
Record experimental observations, reaction details, and resource utilization.
Maintain lab records in electronic notebooks (e-notebooks) as per guidelines.
Ensure timely, accurate, and secure documentation handling.
4. Equipment & Instrument Maintenance
Ensure calibration and preventive maintenance of instruments/equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of lab instruments before use.
Report equipment breakdowns to maintenance teams promptly.
5. Safety, Compliance & EHS
Understand MSDS of chemicals and follow safe handling procedures.
Follow emergency response protocols for spills, leakage, or fire incidents.
Ensure proper waste segregation as per EHS guidelines.
Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
Comply with all EHS policies, safety standards, and data integrity requirements.
6. Training & SOP Compliance
Attend mandatory trainings and maintain updated training records.
Prepare and update SOPs/IOPs/EOPs/OCPs for new or revised lab processes.
7. Research & Project Execution
Work on independent projects in immuno-oncology or assigned research areas.
Drive assigned projects with full ownership and commitment.
Establish assays and models required for project execution.
Collaborate across disciplines and departments.
8. Data Management & Reporting
Compile experimental data in required formats.
Prepare study reports and summaries.
Maintain confidentiality of research data at all times.
9. Mentorship & Collaboration
Train and mentor junior scientists and team members.
Collaborate with research scientists across various disciplines.
Educational Qualification
MSc in Chemical Sciences
Required Skills
Strong understanding of synthetic chemistry concepts
Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments and equipment
Knowledge of analytical techniques and data interpretation
Good communication skills
