Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Research Associate – Chemistry Solutions to support end-to-end chemical synthesis projects aligned with client-defined specifications. This role involves executing organic synthesis reactions, ensuring laboratory safety and compliance, maintaining data integrity, and delivering high-quality research outputs within defined timelines.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in organic or medicinal chemistry, strong laboratory execution skills, and the ability to manage multiple reactions while maintaining strict safety, quality, and confidentiality standards.


Key Responsibilities

Chemical Synthesis & Execution

  • Execute chemical reactions to synthesize target molecules and compounds as per approved synthetic routes

  • Understand project requirements, reaction pathways, and client specifications prior to execution

  • Plan and conduct reactions using appropriate reagents, equipment, and controlled conditions (temperature, pressure, etc.)

  • Perform parallel synthesis and manage multiple reactions efficiently

  • Monitor reaction progress using suitable analytical techniques

  • Perform workup and purification to obtain intermediates or final compounds with desired purity and quality

  • Analyze, interpret, and document experimental data and synthesis outcomes

  • Meet defined productivity benchmarks related to reaction count, steps, compound quality, purity, and project timelines


Laboratory Safety & Compliance

  • Follow laboratory safety protocols, SOPs, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

  • Review and discuss Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) with team members

  • Identify potential safety risks and implement mitigation measures in coordination with supervisors

  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment

  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping standards


Documentation, Data Integrity & IP Protection

  • Accurately document experimental procedures, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks

  • Ensure data integrity in compliance with client and organizational requirements

  • Maintain strict intellectual property (IP) confidentiality

  • Prepare technical summaries and final project reports as required


Learning & Team Development

  • Continuously strengthen knowledge of organic chemistry, synthesis techniques, and analytical methods

  • Participate in one-on-one technical discussions, classroom training, and project-based learning

  • Contribute positively to team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill development initiatives


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    • M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or related discipline

  • Experience:

    • 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in chemical synthesis, preferably in pharmaceutical, CRO, or research laboratory environments


Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of organic and medicinal chemistry principles

  • Practical knowledge of chemical synthesis and analytical techniques

  • Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and MSDS

  • Understanding of IP protection, data integrity, and compliance requirements

  • Ability to optimize resource utilization and conduct basic cost-benefit analysis


Preferred Qualifications

  • Research publications in peer-reviewed national or international scientific journals

  • Exposure to client-facing research projects or CRO environments


Work Environment & Additional Information

  • Work Location: Onsite – Mallapur, Hyderabad

  • Travel: Not required

  • Work Environment: Laboratory-based research setting
