Job Overview

Planet Pharma is seeking a driven, curious, and self-motivated Senior Research Associate for in vitro pharmacology. The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Director of Pharmacology and provide laboratory support for various therapeutic programs, focusing on tissue culture, in vitro assays, and biochemical analyses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee tissue culture activities, including cell line maintenance, banking, and in vitro cell-based assays.
  • Perform cell-based assays to characterize drug activities, such as reporter cell lines for signaling readouts and fluorescence-based viability or cytotoxicity measurements.
  • Conduct biochemical plate-based ELISA assays for protein-protein interactions.
  • Contribute to writing SOPs and establishing lab guidelines for efficient experimentation.
  • Support lab operations, including ordering, waste management, and instrument maintenance.
  • Analyze and communicate research data to Discovery Research and broader teams.

Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or equivalent degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field with 5 years of experience in molecular and cellular biology, assay development, or drug discovery.
  • Hands-on experience in in vitro cell-based research in a collaborative drug discovery setting.
  • Experience with flow cytometry is a plus.
  • Ability to translate research techniques into standard lab protocols and SOPs.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, with experience in managing multiple projects in parallel.
  • Proficient in data analysis software like Excel, GraphPad Prism, etc.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of presenting data clearly to various audiences.
  • Strong team player, self-motivated, curious, and persistent with a positive attitude.
