About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst to support global pharmacovigilance (PV) operations within a leading Contract Research Organization (CRO). This role requires expertise in Oracle Argus Safety database configuration, maintenance, reporting, and system enhancement to support end-to-end PV activities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver high-quality technical solutions aligned with global safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for daily configuration, maintenance, and administration of the Oracle Argus Safety database.

  • Ensure all activities comply with SOPs, policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Collaborate with PV business users to gather requirements and provide effective technical solutions.

  • Create custom and ad-hoc safety reports using built-in tools, SQL, and OBIEE while maintaining reporting accuracy and compliance.

  • Support the development, validation, and delivery of aggregate safety reports.

  • Assist during internal and external audits of the PV Safety database.

  • Provide programming and analytical support to project teams for safety data review and reporting activities.

  • Lead project initiatives, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within scope.

  • Review existing processes and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency.

  • Manage assigned tasks and deliver consistent, high-quality outputs.

  • Estimate programming effort and contribute to bidding or cost planning activities.


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, Information Technology, or equivalent academic qualification.


Experience Required

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in pharmacovigilance systems, Oracle Argus Safety database administration, or PV analytics.

  • Experience in SQL, OBIEE reporting, aggregate report development, and safety system configuration is essential.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Oracle Argus Safety database functions and PV workflows.

  • Proficiency in SQL, OBIEE, and safety reporting tools.

  • Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.

  • Experience participating in audits and managing change control processes.

  • Ability to lead projects and deliver outcomes within established timelines.
