Role Overview

The Reporting Accountant is responsible for delivering effective and efficient finance transactional processes and controls from a GBS Centre. This role adheres to the S&N Finance Record to Report (R2R) taxonomy, the Group Finance Manual, Minimum Acceptable Practices (MAPs), and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Experience: 5 to 7 years in R2R solutions.
  • Accounting Tasks: Regular journal entries, understanding monthly and quarterly close calendars.
  • Tools: Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and SAP.
  • Additional Skills: Understanding of Fixed Assets and Intercompany transactions.
  • Critical Journals: Handling complex journals like bad debts, revenue-related entries, and other accruals/provisions.
  • Month-End Close: Preparing and posting month-end close journals following Controls and Compliance frameworks.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Performing and ensuring timely submission and quality of reconciliations.
  • Issue Resolution: Addressing and resolving queries related to R2R functions.
  • SOPs: Timely updating/preparation of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborating with Team Leaders and the Quality team on improvement projects.
  • Payroll Accounting: Managing payroll-related accounting tasks.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate/Post Graduate in Accountancy (B.Com/M.Com/MBA).
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years in the Record to Report (RTR) domain.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel) and SAP.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to apply logical reasoning to tackle problems.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to accept new work and adopt new tools.
  • Communication: Proficient in English, with good verbal and written communication skills.
