Role Overview

The Senior Principal Investigator will lead process development teams and oversee scientific programs for New Chemical Entities (NCEs) and API scale-up projects. This leadership role combines strategic planning, team management, and hands-on technical guidance to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outcomes in chemical process development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of process development scientists, ensuring efficient resource allocation and achievement of project milestones.

  • Provide strategic direction for process chemistry research, development, and scale-up technologies for preclinical and clinical candidates.

  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and scientific insights effectively to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Support Head of Process R&D in defining and executing research strategies.

  • Demonstrate advanced expertise in modern and classical organic chemistry, proactively solving complex process chemistry problems.

  • Implement methods to enhance team productivity and scientific output.

  • Manage performance appraisals, objective setting, and professional development of team members.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration within matrixed teams to achieve organizational goals.

Educational Qualification

  • Ph.D. or Postdoctoral experience in Organic Chemistry

Technical Skills

  • Deep expertise in process chemistry, including development and scale-up of APIs and NCEs.

  • Strong project management capabilities for large, multi-disciplinary process chemistry teams.

  • Proven experience in matrix organization management and strategic planning.

  • Ability to visualize complex chemistry challenges and provide proactive solutions.

Behavioral Skills

  • Strategic and analytical thinking with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
