Job Purpose

The Senior Medical Manager for Respiratory will:

  • Provide scientific expertise in the therapeutic area (TA).

  • Develop and deliver high-quality scientific non-promotional materials and talks.

  • Support content generation and evidence-based strategies.

  • Drive patient-centric approaches and deliver value to internal and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Affairs & Strategy

  • Provide medical input via the Medical Affairs team into brand strategy development and execution, including non-promotional activities and proposals for evidence generation.

  • Act as study delivery lead, clinical sciences lead, or medical monitor for company-sponsored clinical studies.

  • Evaluate investigator-sponsored study proposals as needed.

  • Strategically manage Patient Support Programs and assess other opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Scientific Communication

  • Interact with Key External Experts at congresses, symposia, CME programs, and launch meetings to build collaborations and inform brand strategy.

  • Act as expert speaker at scientific events to disseminate knowledge and stimulate clinical dialogue.

  • Deliver scientific presentations to formulary or tender committees as appropriate.

  • Impart product and disease area training to field force using approved materials.

  • Ensure prompt, substantiated medical responses to queries.

  • Review and approve non-promotional materials in compliance with GSK policies and regulations.

Medical Governance & Business Development

  • Evaluate new product opportunities and provide feedback to business development teams.

  • Ensure timely updates of prescribing information and abbreviated prescribing information.


Qualifications

Educational Background

  • MBBS with postgraduate qualification in Pharmacology or relevant medical field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–6 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry or relevant head office role.

  • Relevant therapeutic area experience desirable but not mandatory.

  • Understanding of medical governance and regulations related to promotional and non-promotional practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work as a team player with stakeholders of varying experience levels.

Skills & Competencies

  • Presentation skills at scientific meetings.

  • Technical writing skills.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic developments.

  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

  • Build and maintain relationships with colleagues and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

  • Ability to generate creative ideas for continuous improvement.
