About the Role:

We are hiring a Senior Medical Coder – Inpatient Coding to join our India-based medical coding team. This role is ideal for someone with expertise in ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG assignment, and facility-based Emergency Department (ED) coding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign accurate ICD-10-PCS and DRG codes for inpatient and ED facility records

  • Ensure all coding complies with regulatory requirements and payer-specific guidelines

  • Collaborate with both India-based and onshore teams to resolve coding queries

  • Stay updated with coding updates, guideline changes, and industry best practices

  • Meet or exceed daily productivity and coding quality benchmarks


Required Qualifications:

  • Active CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) credential (must be the primary certification)

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in inpatient facility coding

  • Proven expertise in:

    • ICD-10-PCS coding

    • DRG assignment

    • Facility-based ED coding

  • Experience working with U.S. inpatient medical records

  • Strong skills in documentation review and attention to detail


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dual certifications:

    • CPC (AAPC) in addition to CCS

    • Or CIC (AAPC) along with CPC, plus inpatient coding experience

  • Familiarity with EMR systems and medical coding platforms
