Overview:
Amgen is looking for a Senior Manager – Global HEOR Economic Modeling Leader to head a team of economic modelers responsible for developing innovative, accurate, and impactful health economic models. These models support Amgen’s global pricing, reimbursement, and market access strategies. This leadership role is both operational and technical, aligning with Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) Therapeutic Area Heads and ensuring delivery of robust models tailored to payer requirements across various geographies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Global HEOR Economic Modelers, fostering development and performance.

  • Provide technical leadership for developing cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, cost-minimization, budget impact models, and more.

  • Drive standardization and innovation in economic modeling across Amgen’s product portfolio.

  • Align modeling strategies with global HTA and market access objectives.

  • Maintain expertise in payer evidence requirements and integrate these into modeling approaches.

  • Ensure thorough model documentation and compliance with internal and external quality standards.

  • Oversee hiring, training, and performance reviews of team members.

  • Continuously improve tools, methodologies, and workflows to enhance efficiency and model robustness.

Basic Qualifications:
One of the following educational and experience combinations in Health Economics, Econometrics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field:

  • Doctorate degree + 2 years of experience in health economic modeling OR

  • Master’s degree + 8–10 years of experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree + 10–14 years of experience OR

  • Diploma + 14–18 years of experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing or leading teams.

  • Demonstrated success in supporting HTA submissions and global payer strategy.

  • Expert-level proficiency in Excel and health economic modeling tools; knowledge of R, SAS, STATA preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent leadership, project management, and strategic thinking abilities.

  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Deep understanding of HTA and payer expectations across international markets.

  • High attention to analytical detail and data integrity.

  • Ability to innovate using AI and advanced modeling tools.

  • Comfortable managing global, distributed teams across time zones.
