About the Role

The Senior Manager, Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) plays a critical leadership role in ensuring full compliance with environmental, health, safety, and sustainability regulations. This position leads the development and implementation of EHS policies, oversees regulatory alignment, and ensures operational excellence across the facility. The ideal candidate will drive strategic EHS initiatives and serve as the primary liaison with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

This is a purpose-driven position designed for individuals who want to make a meaningful impact on workplace safety and sustainability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and implement Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability programs, including industrial hygiene initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with new and existing federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.

  • Execute and maintain EHS Management Systems, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

  • Establish EHS goals, performance targets, and key performance indicators.

  • Lead governance teams including the Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team.

  • Oversee operations of the on-site wastewater treatment plant.

  • Support environmental and safety compliance activities for ongoing operations and new construction.

  • Collaborate across all organizational levels to drive continuous improvement.

  • Investigate environmental and safety incidents and support corrective action plans.

  • Develop and implement site-wide EHS policies in collaboration with leadership.

  • Manage environmental permitting and ensure ongoing compliance.

  • Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal programs.

  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to EHS staff including engineers, occupational health nurses, and wastewater treatment operators.

  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory bodies such as OSHA and EPA.

  • Participate in EHS audits and assurance reviews at other company facilities.

  • Facilitate employee training programs and develop EHS learning materials.

  • Partner with HR to support employee wellness initiatives.


Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety, or a related field (required).

  • Master’s degree in Environmental or Safety Engineering (preferred).

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in EHS or related functions.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.

  • Professional EHS certification such as CHMM, CSP, or CIH (required).

  • Ability to wear PPE including eye, head, foot, hearing protection, and respirators when necessary.

  • Experience supervising multidisciplinary EHS teams.


Compensation

Estimated base salary range: USD 128,000 to USD 176,000 annually
Actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and skills. Additional discretionary bonuses may apply.
