Job Summary

Abbott is seeking a Senior Field Clinical Specialist to join its Medical and Clinical Affairs division. This remote, field-based role involves providing technical and clinical support for cardiovascular research studies across various clinical sites. The position requires expertise in cath lab protocols and cardiovascular medical devices, along with territory management and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Candidates will help advance clinical trial execution and patient safety in the cardiovascular field while ensuring protocol adherence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and clinical field support for cardiovascular research studies.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on technology, protocols, and clinical trial procedures.

  • Support clinical site enrollment processes and study procedure execution.

  • Manage site qualification, contract negotiations, and training of facility staff.

  • Develop site-specific enrollment strategies and resolve site challenges.

  • Deliver accurate product troubleshooting and technical support.

  • Mentor Clinical Site Leads and share trial execution best practices.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Scientists, study teams, and internal departments.

  • Support corporate education efforts for new investigative technologies.

  • Communicate critical updates and study progress to Abbott management and stakeholders.

  • Identify and resolve issues proactively, ensuring continuous improvement at study sites.

  • Serve as a mentor and regional technical resource for fellow Clinical Specialists.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Biological Sciences, or equivalent (Cardiology certification preferred).

  • 3+ years of clinical experience in the cardiovascular field.

  • High competency in cath lab and operating room procedures.

  • Recognized leadership skills beyond local territory responsibilities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication with excellent presentation abilities.

  • Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and follow-up skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 80% as required.

  • Experience in clinical trial support and territory management preferred.
