Job Purpose

The Senior Director will lead Integrated Clinical System Support, overseeing 40+ experts and 100+ clinical systems globally. This role is responsible for:

  • Driving operational excellence.

  • Ensuring compliance and user-friendly system landscapes.

  • Empowering clinical study teams worldwide to deliver studies efficiently and compliantly.

This role is ideal for senior leaders with expertise in operational leadership, compliance, and stakeholder support in complex clinical environments.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Lead the strategic vision for a global team of 40+ experts managing 100+ clinical systems.

  • Design and implement a forward-looking roadmap, including outsourcing and partnerships.

  • Align support services with technology and business needs, advising on system gaps, consolidation, and decommissioning.

  • Forecast changes in user demand and data volumes to ensure scalable system and support capacity.

Compliance

  • Champion a culture of reliability and regulatory excellence.

  • Ensure compliance with external and internal guidelines, regulations, and policies.

  • Maintain robust documentation demonstrating system reliability and fitness for purpose.

  • Architect and execute risk-proportionate Computer System Validation (CSV).

  • Represent the team in audits and inspections and ensure timely CAPA completion.

End-user Support

  • Provide world-class support to internal and external users.

  • Deliver onboarding and capability building for new systems and updates.

  • Maintain a repository of guides, FAQs, troubleshooting steps, and training materials.

  • Operate a centralized helpdesk for investigator site users, ensuring rapid issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Administrative Operations

  • Manage user accounts and access permissions, including periodic reviews.

  • Define and execute data archiving strategies to maintain system efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Inspire, coach, and develop a global team.

  • Foster an environment of empowerment, engagement, and alignment with GCO working principles.

  • Model GSK values and champion professional growth and high-performance culture.


Qualifications & Experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Sciences, IT, or equivalent experience.

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in clinical operations, systems management, and large matrixed environments.

  • Deep expertise in GxP, CSV, data security, IT infrastructure, and regulatory compliance.

  • Proven ability to lead change, technology adoption, and process transformation.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and drive organizational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree, PhD, or MBA.
