Job Summary

Lilly is hiring a Senior Director – Global Diagnostics Scientific Affairs based in Indianapolis, Indiana. This pivotal, onsite leadership role requires deep expertise in laboratory medicine, diagnostics, and medical affairs to develop and lead global strategies that enhance diagnostic accuracy and availability. With a competitive compensation of $198,000 to $336,600 plus bonuses and benefits, this position is suited for experienced professionals passionate about transforming diagnostic practices in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Lilly’s enterprise-wide subject matter expert in laboratory medicine and pathology.

  • Develop and lead global diagnostic strategies focused on accuracy and availability.

  • Standardize diagnostic protocols and drive regional diagnostic centers-of-excellence.

  • Oversee diagnostic submissions to organizations like CAP, ADLM, and IFCC.

  • Guide diagnostic partner selection for companion diagnostic development.

  • Analyze diagnostic market trends and lab technology adoption worldwide.

  • Provide internal teams with diagnostic training and scientific support.

  • Collaborate with global medical affairs teams to optimize study design and diagnostics.

  • Establish key opinion leader relationships and represent Lilly at scientific forums.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), board-certified or board-eligible.

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical or pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • Preferred: 8+ years of experience in diagnostic medical affairs.

  • In-depth knowledge of pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical lab processes.

  • Strategic problem-solving with a strong outcomes and data-driven approach.

  • Strong communication, influence, and collaboration skills in a matrix organization.

  • Ability to travel up to 15%.
