Position Overview

The Senior Director - Catalyze360 AI/ML Product Lead will drive the development and execution of innovative AI/ML-based solutions within the drug discovery and development processes at Eli Lilly. The role blends product strategy, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the Catalyze360 platform delivers meaningful value across R&D workflows. You will lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, while aligning with Lilly’s strategic goals to maximize the platform’s impact across stakeholders. The Product Lead will be responsible for ensuring the platform remains user-centric, scalable, and impactful.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Vision

  • Develop and communicate a clear product strategy for the Catalyze360 AI/ML platform, ensuring alignment with Eli Lilly’s R&D goals.
  • Define the product roadmap, prioritizing high-impact use cases for drug discovery.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the strategic direction is feasible and market-relevant.
  • Establish success metrics to track platform performance and product impact.
  • Incorporate market research, competitive analysis, and user feedback into the strategy.

Product Development and Lifecycle Management

  • Lead product ideation, development, and launch of AI/ML features, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to develop product specifications, including well-defined user stories and requirements.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring alignment with timelines and business objectives.
  • Continuously refine and improve the platform based on user feedback and emerging technologies.

Impact Assessment and Model Improvement

  • Assess and demonstrate how AI/ML models improve R&D workflows, predictive accuracy, and decision-making.
  • Regularly report on KPIs and demonstrate how AI/ML models contribute to business outcomes, such as improved efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work with therapeutic and functional areas (TAs/FAs) to integrate models into existing workflows, ensuring they deliver measurable results.

Technology Stack and Scalability

  • Partner with Tech @Lilly to ensure the platform's technical stack is scalable, reliable, and performant.
  • Ensure the platform can handle increasing data complexity and model sophistication as it scales.

User Experience and Specifications

  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure the platform provides a seamless, user-friendly experience.
  • Gather and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve platform usability and functionality.
  • Work with stakeholders to define detailed product specifications, including model performance and data contribution standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication

  • Coordinate with internal teams, including R&D, engineering, data science, and business development, to ensure the platform meets user needs and business objectives.
  • Lead collaboration with external partners to enhance the platform’s capabilities.
  • Evangelize the platform’s value proposition, ensuring stakeholders understand its benefits and use cases.
  • Communicate product plans, progress, and impact to leadership and other stakeholders.

Market and Competitive Analysis

  • Monitor market trends and the competitive landscape to ensure the platform remains differentiated.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and potential threats to the platform’s success.
  • Explore new use cases and user segments to drive awareness and adoption of the platform across the organization.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 6 years of product management experience in life sciences or AI/ML-focused industries.
  • Proven experience managing all aspects of product development, from ideation to launch and continuous improvement.

Preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to evaluating product success.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies and their application in drug discovery or biopharma.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product management frameworks.
  • Technical background with experience in AI/ML models, software development, or cloud-based platforms.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Anticipated Salary Range: $177,750 - $260,700 (dependent on education, experience, skills, and location)
  • Bonus: Eligible for a company bonus based on performance.
