Job Overview

Independently manage end-to-end delivery of data management services for single or multi-service projects. Ensure quality deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and meet customer satisfaction. Provide leadership, technical expertise, and vision for the Clinical Data Management (CDM) team in project planning, execution, and close-out, while complying with Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), applicable regulatory guidelines, SOPs, and CDM guidance documents.

Roles may include Data Team Lead (DTL), Program Lead, Customer Site Manager, or Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific CDM tasks.


Essential Functions

Client Management

  • Serve as primary point of contact for customer on data management deliverables.

  • Manage multiple large studies/programs, potentially global.

  • Provide leadership and senior support to DTLs across projects.

  • Manage process improvements, issue escalation, workload projections, and provide technical expertise.

  • Lead direct negotiations with customers on timelines, finances, processes, and resources.

  • Maintain strong customer relationships and open communications with customer and IQVIA management.

Service Management

  • Meet with Data Operations Coordinator (DOC) and Data Operations team to ensure milestones meet timelines and quality deliverables.

  • Provide training and development to junior team members.

  • Serve as escalation point for unresolved data issues.

  • Independently manage DM service delivery, ensuring deliverables meet DMP and contract/SOW specifications.

  • Implement proactive quality management plans across projects/programs.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve services.

  • Maintain internal tracking systems.

Subject Matter Expertise (SME)

  • Provide expertise in specific CDM tasks or technology.

  • Serve as customer site lead.

  • Mentor and coordinate work of junior DTL staff.

  • Lead development and implementation of new technology or tools.

Financial Management / Business Development

  • Independently manage SOW/budget and review financial reports.

  • Track out-of-scope tasks and change orders.

  • Participate in pricing discussions and RFP process.

  • Serve as Project Manager for single service DM projects, including financial tracking, revenue recognition, and invoicing.

Other Responsibilities

  • Lead focus teams or global/local best practice initiatives.

  • Present at professional conferences or publish in professional journals.

  • Develop, revise, and maintain core SOPs and work instructions.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the functional manager.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health, Clinical, Biological, or Mathematical Sciences, or related field.

  • Experience:

    • 7 years direct Data Management experience, including ≥5 years as a CDM project lead.

    • Proven competence managing multiple global trials through full DM life cycle (large trials ≥1000 patients).

    • Expert knowledge of DM processes, SAE reconciliation, vendor management, local lab data, and/or new technology.

    • Experience in complex customer negotiations and bid defense meetings.

  • Skills:

    • Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Pharmacology, Anatomy, and Physiology.

    • Strong understanding of GCP, regulatory guidelines, and clinical drug development processes.

    • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with coworkers, managers, and customers.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Pay Range: $68,500 – $217,100 (annualized, dependent on experience and qualifications).

  • Incentives, bonuses, and additional benefits may apply depending on role and location.
