Job Overview:

Independently manage end-to-end delivery of Data Management (DM) services for single or multi-service projects, ensuring quality deliverables on time, within budget, and to customer satisfaction. Provide leadership, expertise, and oversight across the full CDM life cycle — from planning and execution to close-out.

You will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring compliance with GCPs, regulatory guidelines, SOPs, and CDM best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

Client Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on data management deliverables.

  • Manage multiple large or global studies/programs.

  • Provide leadership and senior support to DTLs on complex, global projects.

  • Negotiate directly with customers on timelines, budgets, and resources.

  • Maintain strong, proactive client relationships and ensure satisfaction.

  • Manage issue escalation, workload projections, and continuous process improvements.

  • Ensure alignment with contractual obligations and open communication channels with all stakeholders.

Service Management

  • Oversee data management service delivery to meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Conduct regular milestone and performance meetings with Data Operations teams.

  • Train, mentor, and develop junior team members.

  • Ensure appropriate resourcing for deliverables and adherence to Data Management Plans (DMPs).

  • Serve as escalation point for unresolved data issues.

  • Lead proactive quality management initiatives and root-cause analyses.

  • Continuously identify and implement service improvements and process efficiencies.

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a specific CDM task, technology, or therapeutic area.

  • Support implementation of new tools and quality systems across projects.

Financial Management & Business Development

  • Independently manage Statements of Work (SOWs) and project budgets.

  • Review financial reports and participate in monthly project reviews.

  • Track and manage change orders for out-of-scope activities.

  • Support RFP processes — including pricing review and bid defense meetings.

  • Manage financial tracking, revenue recognition, and invoicing for single-service DM projects.

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead best practice or focus teams to enhance CDM processes.

  • Present lessons learned in CDM workshops or professional forums.

  • Contribute to SOP and WI development, and support new technology adoption.

  • Publish or present at professional conferences, as applicable.


Qualifications & Requirements:

⚠️ Please note: This role is not aligned with Analyst, Architect, Data Entry, Design, Engineering, IT, or Research positions. Applicants must meet the Data Management experience requirements below.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Clinical, Biological, or Mathematical Sciences (or related field) — Required

  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of direct Data Management experience, including 5+ years as a CDM project lead.

  • Proven experience managing multiple global trials through full DM lifecycle (≥1000 patients).

  • Demonstrated expertise in Data Management processes, including:

    • SAE reconciliation

    • External data vendor reconciliation

    • Local laboratory data management

    • New technology adoption

  • Proven ability to handle complex customer negotiations and bid defenses independently.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong command of Medical Terminology, Pharmacology, Anatomy, and Physiology.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Good Clinical Practices (GCPs) and regulatory guidelines.

  • Deep knowledge of clinical drug development processes.

  • Strong project management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building abilities.

  • Ability to manage teams across global and cross-functional environments.


Compensation:

  • Annual Base Pay Range: $68,500 – $217,100 USD

Actual compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location.

  • Additional incentives may include bonuses, performance plans, and health/welfare benefits.
