Senior Data Scientist – Pharma Analytics | Bangalore
Job Summary
ICON plc is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to support a global pharmaceutical partner at our Bangalore office (hybrid model). In this role, you will develop predictive models, automate analytics, and generate actionable business and clinical insights using Python, SQL, Spotfire, and ML techniques. Key Responsibilities
Develop custom data models and algorithms to extract actionable insights.
Build tools and processes to analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deploy and monitor models.
Leverage BI tools like Spotfire for visualization and business review.
Apply ML techniques (e.g., neural networks, clustering, decision trees).
Handle large clinical and operational datasets with efficiency.
Document analytics processes to ensure inspection readiness.
Liaise with stakeholders to understand and solve complex data problems.
Design scalable, automated solutions to recurring data needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in data science, preferably in pharma or healthcare.
Proficiency in Python and SQL (R is a plus).
Experience with data architecture and handling large datasets.
Strong grasp of machine learning algorithms and statistical concepts.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with clinical data is advantageous, but not mandatory.
Familiarity with BI tools such as Spotfire is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work in agile environments.
