๐งฉ Role Overview
As a Senior Clinical Programmer, you will design and develop data review tools and dashboards using Python, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and play a critical role in transforming clinical data into actionable insights. Your expertise will support clinical trials by enabling efficient data validation and review processes.
๐ฏ Key Responsibilities
๐ง Core Technical Tasks
Develop and maintain Python scripts for:
Clinical data review
Dashboards and listing generation
Translate SAS logic into Python-based solutions:
Interpret .sas7bdat datasets
Convert complex SAS programs to Python logic
Build data visualizations and dashboards using:
Spotfire, pandas, matplotlib, etc.
Develop custom data listings and review tools based on user-defined requirements
๐ค Cross-functional Collaboration
Work with:
SAS programmers
Data managers
Clinical leads
Safety and medical reviewers
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of outputs
๐ ๏ธ Additional Technical & Operational Duties
Provide technical guidance to data management teams
Present technical documentation and reports
Contribute to process improvement and solution design
Lead or guide junior professionals in programming tasks
Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
Participate in project meetings to provide technical input
Troubleshoot programming issues and propose corrective actions
Maintain documentation such as SOPs and technical manuals
๐ Required Skills & Qualifications
โ Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Minimum 5+ years of Python programming experience:
pandas, NumPy, OpenPyXL, etc.
Basic knowledge of SAS:
Read SAS datasets
Understand simple PROC steps
Experience in:
Building data review dashboards and listings
Database design and implementation
Strong data handling, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to learn clinical data standards (if not already experienced)
Ability to work independently and mentor team members
โญ Nice to Have
Experience with Spotfire or Power BI
Exposure to clinical data:
SDTM, CRFs, clinical trial lifecycle
Background in CRO, pharma, or healthcare data environments
Knowledge of data review automation frameworks and tools
